Posted on 09:58 by Unknown
The Datsuns are a hard rock band from Cambridge, New Zealand, formed in 2000. To date they have released four albums and several singles and their fifth album "Death Rattle Boogie" is Out Oct. 12 in Australia and New Zealand through Hellsquad/MGM, Oct 15th UK & Europe. Oct 23rd USA, Canada, Mexico, arrives exactly 10 years after the band’s blockbuster self-titled debut. It’s also their first since 2008’s "Headstunts". Recorded half at lead singer Dolf De Borst’s Gutterview studios in Sweden and half at Neil Finn’s Roundhead studios in Auckland, the album was self-produced by the band and yet engineered in Sweden by former Hellacopters frontman Nicke Andersson.
Today's tune is "Gold Halo" is the new single from upcoming fifth album. Of the clip, The Datsuns write: “We used double layers of woman’s stockings over the lens to give that old soft look. They used the same technique in ’40s films to make women look more beautiful. The main inspiration was ’50s horror films. It’s very Hitchcock-inspired; we even replicated the shower shot from Psycho.” Directed by Sam Kristofski.
